I blame Syera and Janette Morgan from the Aladdin Central messageboard. I had drawn another picture, involving my unconventional 'ship of Mozenrath and Dondi and how he reacts to being kissed by the little girl. It started a dicussion which included a comparison between our favorite Disney meglomaniac and the recent incarnation of Willy Wonka, as portrayed by Johnny Depp. Despite what the most rabid of Mozy fangirls may think, our reasoning is that he is basically a geek, in the sense that, while very intelligent and oddly charming, he probably has very stunted social skills and would act very much like Wonka would if hugged or kissed by a little kid. Anyway, the muse struck and this drawing is the result. I threw in Xerxes as an Oompah Loompa. It, oddly enough, makes sense.
Mozenrath and Xerxes are copyrighted to Disney.
Willy Wonka is copyrighted to Warner Bros. and Roald Dahl.
Ack! I HATE that movie!! At least the original with Gene Wilder...never got around to seeing the recent one...don't know if I want to... But I love the expression. I really couldn't tell the connection, I just thought it was a classey image of Mozerath with Xerxes in a beanie. Heh... Um, well then. I love a more classical, turn of the century type image on him anyway...I just can't grasp the goth concept many people are attached to for him. Very prettiful...and, ah...the lips.
Well, "Charlie and The Chocolate Factory" had some of Tim Burton's usual sensibilities, plus some great one liners by Johnny Depp.
I'm glad you liked it. The expression was based on the one that Johnny Depp had on the cover of the DVD. However, that isn't a beanie that Xerxes is wearing. It's oompah-loompah hair.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
The Cutting Edge is a weekly article that features brand new selected high quality art products that caught our eyes. Check out the cutting edge prints some of your fellow artists have submitted in the past week!
